Advanced Diploma

The Advanced Diploma has been designed as a stepping stone into full professional qualification and suits those who have some industry knowledge.

Like the Foundation Diploma, the Advanced Diploma is a recognised and respected qualification and it can count towards your Professional Qualifying Examinations. It involves taking the Institute’s benchmark paper Shipping Business plus one other subject from Group 2 list of optional from the Institute’s syllabus. The Advanced Diploma is awarded if both subjects are passed in the same exam sitting

Eligibilty:

The ICS Advanced Diploma is a combination of Shipping Business plus a Group 2 subject from the ICS PQE syllabus. If only one paper is passed then that paper is taken forward as part of the PQE process. In effect candidates sitting the Advanced Diploma only have to sit 2 examinations in their first year. This aligns with those sitting Foundation Diploma.

  • For those with more experience and as a first stepping stone towards membership. This course consists of two subjects, Shipping Business and a specialist subject of you choice. Both subjects must be passed in the same year of sitting the exams.
    • Cost= R6752,89 per subject i.e. R13 505,78 for the year excl. Vat
    • Subscription Fee= R289,58 per annum excl. Vat
    • Exam Registration Fee= R3316,95 per academic year
    • Early Bird Exam Entry Fee= R2587,25 per subject (Nov and May exams), valid to 10/09/2024 per acedemic year
    • Standard Exam Entry Fee= R4288,12 per subject for Nov and May exams
